You're righ...Hey Tommy thanks for stopping by.

You're right, I didn't catch this spot in it's prime and I'd love to go back for a longer bout, especially to see the breeders. It combines several different habitats, so it will be incredibly productive in a month or two.

We'll have to hit it up and level it down some time. Especially for a birder who knows what he's doing, such as yourself, it'll be a goldmine : ) Laurence Butlerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14766876797454283812noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5791077723521794200.post-85680201831865445612014-03-24T20:02:06.197-07:002014-03-24T20:02:06.197-07:00Hey Laurence,
Nice post! Sorry to hear about yo...Hey Laurence,

Nice post! Sorry to hear about your equipment and coming back without the Thrush. But that's the way the Varied Thrush is, and I think it's a much harder search and chase in a wilderness area like Grapevine Creek (As compared to the Boyce bird which liked one general spot). But the fun of birding is the chase a lot of times and the fun of the attempt, empty or successful. I missed the Aztec Thrush by 5 mins, my biggest heartbreak as a birder. Very cool you got the Pacific Wren though, and nice shots of that little bird.

Grapevine seems like a very neat place, and it is one I have been dying to go to since last year. It's probably close to 25 miles east of Prescott, meaning it would only take me a little over an hour to get there from home. You had a great species count, and the breeders in their majority haven't even arrived yet. There are great things to be found at Grapevine!Tommy DeBardelebenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14927348437153499516noreply@blogger.com
