Neat writeup and pictures, Laurence!

Gosh those Groove-billed Anis are cool, I hope one shows up at Tres Rios this fall or somewhere else that's close and chase able! The White-tailed Hawk is really a stunning bird, as is the Green Jay of course. The White-tipped Dove shot should appear in a field guide, that is great. All of the birds and pictures are great. The guy was always up to some hijnks or other with that other ornithological ne'er-do-well, Baron Cavendish Bacchanal, the man principally responsible for our pronunciation of GISS, and who once tried to name the Elegant Trogon the "mugwump".

That pigeon shot is muy fantastico! Just when I think I have seen and heard of every dove in the US, someone like you has to go and show me another species! White-tipped doves? Really? Truth be told, I enjoyed the trails there more than at Estero, but that's because I spent most of the Estero time largely languishing in the wrong, overly sunny areas. It and Estero were definitely my two favorites though, and Sabal will certainly be a site I revisit when next I am in the area.

The duck-umbrella, weirdly, restored my faith in humanity.
